A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
Now that Spring has sprung, I’ve been spending more time outdoors. Even though warmer weather and longer daylight hours allow us more opportunities to be physically active, we shouldn’t lose focus on our mental health too. May is Mental Health Month. Last year when we embarked on the creation of our Strategic Plan, our focus centered around mental health and wellness. We want our employees and clients to be at their best both mentally and emotionally. If there are any barriers that prevent this from happening, we as an organization strive to provide the tools and techniques necessary to eliminate those barriers.
Crossroads offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) aimed at providing support to employees with personal problems or work related challenges impacting their mental or emotional well-being. For more information about the EAP, please visit www.arborfamilycounseling.com.
If you’re an employee who takes part in our Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance program, you have access to a variety of health and wellness discounts. This includes discounts on gym memberships, traveling and nutrition. To tap into those resources, please visit blue365deals.com/WellmarkBCBS/.
We are also asking employees to help us test a new app called Joyages! This brain health app is designed to help you reduce stress and live a happier life. From now through July 1st, all employees are receiving free and unlimited access to the app!
This month Crossroads will be taking part in Omaha/Pottawattamie Gives! on May 22nd. You’re invited to support his community-wide fundraising event by donating to your favorite nonprofits. You can donate online throughout the day, or come visit us at the Pottawattamie County Community Foundation’s Celebration from 5pm – 7pm in Bayliss Park in Council Bluffs. We’ll be celebrating with food trucks, live music and various activities!
